The Worthington Pantry will be busy this summer feeding children throughout our community. Summertime can present a challenge for families in feeding their children. To help meet this need, the pantry is partnering with SON (Serving Our Neighbors) Ministries to provide lunches to area children who live in apartment communities. They will also continue to support the Worthington Schools summer feeding program, as they have done for the past few years.

SON Ministries has contracted with a caterer who will deliver healthy lunches Mondays through Thursdays during June and July to children who live in the Karl Village Apartments and in the Worthington Row townhomes. Children will eat lunch outside in a relaxed setting close to home. Resource Pantry volunteers will be on hand each day to distribute the meals to the children and to provide fun activities.

Worthington Resource Pantry will also continue to support the Worthington Schools during its summer feeding program. This year, the district will serve hot lunches at Worthington Estates Elementary School to hungry children throughout June. Pantry volunteers help serve the food, pass out needed supplies, keep the lunch room tidy and help children open packaging.

The pantry needs lots of helping hands. To help, please contact Nick Linkenhoker, volunteer director, at nick@worthingtonresourcepantry.org
