All Saints members can send the love and message of Jesus to children around the world simply by filling a shoebox with fun and personal items. The congregation will again participate in Operation Christmas Child, a ministry of Samaritan’s Purse. The shoeboxes we fill will travel worldwide to reach boys and girls with the gospel of Jesus during the Christmas season.

We thank Julie and Emily Scott and Lindsay Borger for heading up this great ministry. We will start collecting boxes Oct. 16.

To participate you’ll need an average-sized empty cardboard or plastic shoebox. Feel free to wrap, but please wrap boxes and lids separately to allow for inspections as your gifts travel internationally.

Then fill the box with treats and personal items to make the holiday season special for children facing hardship. Suggestions include a “wow” toy such as a doll, ball or stuffed animal, small toys and games, hygiene items and school supplies.

Please do not include used or damaged items, war-related items such as toy guns, knives or military figures, seeds, food (including chocolate), liquids or lotions, medications or vitamins, breakable items or aerosol cans.

Donors are asked to include a $7 check to defray shipping costs.
